【歌詞対訳】”Harder to Breathe” / Maroon 5
2002年のデビューアルバム『ソングズ・アバウト・ジェーン』（Songs About Jane）の1曲目。マルーン５は日本でいえばOfficial髭男dismみたいな当たり障りのないポップバンドなのかと思っていたけど、この曲はラップの影響ばりばりだし、けっこうミクスチャーロックっぽい。すこし方向性がちがっていたらレッド・ホット・チリペッパーズみたいに…はならないか。アルバムデビューが2002年なのでもうちょい若手なのかと思っていたら、1994年にカリフォルニア州ロサンゼルスで結成されたそうなのでバンド歴はけっこう長い。映画『ラヴ・アクチュアリー』（Love Actually)は観たことがあるけれど、そこで曲が使われて人気に火がついたというのは意識したことがなかった。「スウィーティスト・グッバイ」（"Sweetest Goodbye"）はけっこう気に入った。最近はもはやポップバンドと化していて古参ファンからの受けは悪いみたいだけど、僕は新参者なのでもうちょいいろいろ聴いてみようと思う。
