【歌詞対訳】”I Know Alone” / Haim
サードアルバム『ウィミン・イン・ミュージック・パートⅢ』（Women in Music Pt.Ⅲ, 2020）からのフィフスシングル。ハイムは長女エスティ（Este）、次女ダニエル（Danielle）、三女アラナ（Alana）のハイム三姉妹からなる、カリフォルニア州・ロサンジェルス出身のロックバンド。2013年のデビューアルバム『デイズ・アー・ゴーン』（Days Are Gone）は学生時代の僕を夢中にさせたものだった。YouTubeで観ている限り、ライブでの彼女たちはとにかくあら削りで、勢いがあった。しかしながら、アリエル・レヒトシェイドがプロデュースを務めた同作は、彼女たちのはじけるようなパワーはそのままに、徹底的に磨かれたサウンドプロダクションとなっており、これが彼女たちを世界的な成功へと導いた。その後リリースされた2枚のアルバムは、アリエルも制作に関わってはいるものの、古きよきアメリカン・ポップ・ロック的な面が強くなり、同時に音楽性の幅も大きく広がっている。新譜リリースが待ちどおしいバンドのひとつ。
「アイ・ノウ・アローン」はコロナ禍よりもずっと前に書かれた曲とのことだが、ダニエルの個人的なうつ状態をテーマにしたこの歌は、コロナによって軽い無気力状態になっていた僕にもヒットした。彼女たち自身によるゆるいダンスをフィーチャーしたビデオも不思議な魅力がある。
