アルバム『ゴーイング・トゥー・ア・ゴーゴー』（Going to a Go-Go, 1965）のタイトル・トラック。この曲は当時流行の最先端であったゴーゴーを活き活きと描写している。アメリカ発のゴーゴーはまたたくまに世界中で流行し、日本でも昭和40年代にはゴーゴー喫茶なるものが存在したそうだ。スモーキー・ロビンソンはモータウンを牽引するミュージシャンであっただけでなく、同社の副社長としてモータウンの黄金時代を支えた。ちなみに1981年にアルバム『刺青の男』（Tattoo You, 1981）のプロモートのためにローリング・ストーンズが北米ツアーを行っており、エディ・コクランの「トウェンティ・フライト・ロック」とともにカバーを披露している。
